Arlene Maryanne Rosenau, beloved wife, mother, grandma, great-grandma and sister, passed away peacefully on March 2, 2026, at the age of 89. Born on December 9, 1936, to Anthony and Evelyn Pieszkalski in Detroit. Following the death of her father, she was raised by her mother Evelyn and Harry Fekin, extending the family tree even more. Arlene dedicated her life to her family and community, leaving behind a legacy of love and compassion.
In 1960, Arlene married her husband, Martin (deceased), with whom she shared a profound love for nearly 42 years, raising three wonderful children. Together, they built a warm and nurturing home, where family gatherings were abundant with laughter. Arlene took immense pride in caring for her family, always making time to attend her children’s and grandchildren's events, ensuring they felt supported, celebrating everything they did.
Loving mother to Martin (Deb Schneider), Mary Beth (Michael) Fitzpatrick, and Marceline (Stephen) Deriemacker. She was the beloved grandmother to Alex (Kirsten Corneliussen), Allison (TJ) Hext, Lauren (William) Cumming, Brendan, Kyle, Jeffrey, and Jason, and treasured great-grandmother to Anders and Trace; cherished sister to Beverly (late John Geml), Cynthia Rubis, late Jerome (Suzanne) Fekin, and David (Cindy) Fekin; predeceased by her sister-in-laws Sr. Mary Jo Rosenau, IHM, and Joyce Rowe.
An avid volunteer, Arlene devoted countless hours to her church and community, both in Detroit at Assumption Grotto and St. Jude, and most recently at St. Paul of Tarsus. Arlene was a woman of great faith, and her kindness and enthusiasm touched the lives of many. Known for her thoughtful cards, Arlene possessed a special knack for making everyone feel treasured on their special day.
In her leisure, Arlene found joy in bowling, traveling and supporting her favorite teams like the Red Wings, Tigers, Spartans and Wolverines, and cheering on all her grandchildren at their numerous events. She believed that every moment was an opportunity to create lasting memories.
Arlene’s capacity for love and her generous spirit will be profoundly missed by her many nieces, nephews, godchildren, cousins, friends, and all who were fortunate to know her. She leaves behind a legacy of togetherness that will echo through the lives of those she touched.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations in her memory to the IHM Sisters Retirement Fund, or the St. Paul of Tarsus Food Pantry
continuing her commitment to caring for others. May her soul rest in peace, knowing she is surrounded by the love she so dearly cultivated in life.
