Walter Albert Jr. Obituary

Walter Bernard Albert Jr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, passed away on March 17, 2024.

Born on June 5, 1947, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Walt was the son of Walter Sr. and Dorothy Albert. His journey led him through a remarkable life of service and dedication to his country and career.

After completing his Bachelor's degree in Philadelphia, Walt found his calling in the United States Navy, where he selflessly served during the Vietnam Era. His military service brought him to Michigan, where he was stationed at Selfridge Air Base. Following his honorable discharge, Walt embarked on a successful career in induction heating, spending over 35 years at InductoHeat and retiring as Vice President of Sales. His work took him around the globe, allowing him to craft lasting memories wherever he went.

In 1980, Walt met the love of his life, Susan Simon, whom he married on May 28, 1983, at the Presbyterian Church of Utica. Together, they raised two cherished children, Joel and Lauren, who were the light of Walt's life. He was known for his unwavering devotion to his family and the joy he found in spending time with his grandchildren.

Walt had a passion for collecting Lionel trains, working on Mustangs, and using his skillful hands to repair anything that needed fixing. Walt also had a true love of aviation that included piloting real airplanes to flying R.C. airplanes. His talents and hobbies brought joy to those around him and created cherished memories for his loved ones.

The visitation to celebrate Walt's life will be held on Monday, March 25 at Lee-Ellena Funeral Home from 2:00 – 8:00 PM.

Walt will forever be remembered for his kindness, wisdom, his ability of always having a good joke to share, and the love he shared with all who knew him. May his soul find peace, and his spirit live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
